That this cup of rich wine, brown eyed, full-figured gal who's saved by grace Can occupy and conquer any theatre space! -Jewelz 2024 Raised between the shores of Asbury Park, NJ and the Hill District of Pittsburgh, PA, to some I am known by my family nickname while others know me simply by Jewelz. From 1985 to 1990, I attended William Paterson College (now William Paterson University) where I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre Arts. I continue to study in various independent acting, writing and directing classes to sharpen my tools. I have been involved in several community based academic programs that cater to a diverse assembly of ages, backgrounds and experiences. In addition, I have experience in public relations and journalism having created campaigns for various groups and individuals.
Artistically, I am a playwright, director, actress and producer bringing a little Jewelz flava to the entertainment community. I have penned numerous poems, essays, monologues, sketches, one act and full length plays dealing with a wide variety of topics and I am taking the steps to self-publish several books. In addition, I have been a consultant to other budding playwrights bringing their hidden talents to the surface. Founder of The Contemporary Voice of Bergen County, an on-line Blogsite, I write for the heart of the community.
Socially, I seek to recognize, encourage, uplift, support and promote talent in “hard to reach” or @ risk communities through the performing & creative arts. Some of my highlights include: volunteering as the performance coordinator for the Hackensack Police Athletic League's performance arts pilot program; serving as the resident drama instructor for the Memorial House Alumni Association Teen Program under founder Gloria Draper (Englewood, NJ) and operated as the executive administrator and theatre consultant for From Our Heart To Your Soul Drama Ministry (Teaneck, NJ). Personally, I view my life as one of servitude to the communities in which I live, work and worship. Currently I worship and fellowship at Community Baptist Church where the Rev. Dr. Lester W.
